It is very crucial to understand this point, there is no point to divert traffic on some other website for a keyword which you are targeting, especially newbies make such mistakes.

If the “content” of a page makes someone talk, it indicates authority, credibility, and/or trustworthiness. Thus, links on pages are like votes of trust, credibility, & authority. The more links a page gets, the more votes they are getting, which can improve their ranking.

An outbound link for you is an inbound link for someone else. If a link takes readers to another page on the same website it’s called an internal link.

It’s true, you certainly need to be more gentle with the links than a few years ago and not overdo the optimization. However, significant changes are still ahead of us.

Hi Damien,

There is no advantage to making all outbound links nofollow. Google says to use the nofollow attribute for links you do not vouch for, which doesn’t apply if you’re linking to expert, authority sites that relate to your topic. Cutting off all link equity flowing out of your site may signal to Google that you don’t trust any of your links and don’t consider them to be an authority. Search engines see the internet as a connected entity, and an authority site would not be reclusive. We recommend nofollowing outbound links only when the destination page is off topic or irrelevant to your site. (For more information, check out this SE Journal article: https://www.searchenginejournal.com/when-to-use-nofollow-on-links/383468/)

Hope this helps!
